Increasing Ebook Downloads by 333% in 1 Month

For the first 3 months at working at the BuWit Family of companies, I pushed to get the eBook page updated. The eBook download page was not mobile-friendly, very plain, and looked like a scam.

Once we did get approval, I was excited, but I was not put on that project. This second revision of the eBook page brought the look of the page from the early 2000s to the average look of a webpage in 2014. The page had too many fields, too much writing and was still not mobile.

The number of eBook download did slightly increase; however, we were still coming under our daily goal.  It was frustrating because we were using Facebook Ads to lead people to this page and we were overachieving on our link clicks, click-through rate, and cost per clicks.

I then pushed for a third revision of the eBook download page that I could control. I started by testing trials of different third-party tools and plug-ins. I ultimately went with using a tool/plugin called Instapages. My reasoning was due to the data analysis feature, the integration with our website, Facebook’s pixel, Google Analytics’ Pixel, heat maps, and the creation of a mobile-friendly page. As I was going through the trial, I created a mockup of a new eBook download page and created a full report of the pros and cons of this tool to present to the owners of the company. My ultimate concept with the eBook download page was to simplify the process of signing up, update the design, and make the page mobile-friendly. The mobile-friendly feature was most important to me because after reviewing the data from our Google Analytics, I saw that more than 60% of our ad traffic that led to the download page was by mobile devices. Once I presented my full report, the owners and I had agreed on some small modifications to the UI, but ultimately, I was given the green light to implement my new eBook download page.

I finished creating the eBook page and got with our IT department to help integrate the new eBook page with our website, along with the Facebook pixel and Google analytics. Once it was set up and fully tested, we launched it and the results were staggering. Within the first day, we had jumped from about 14 eBook downloads to 66. Each day the eBook download numbers were increasing, and we were still using the same budget as the previous month. I as well created and launched new animation ads that ultimately help the eBook downloads as well. My highest day for that first month was 273 eBook downloads and I was able to consistently attain over 100 daily eBook downloads for that first month and the following months.
