Suggestion on Mtailor
Mtailor is a mobile app that gathers measurements of your body in 30 seconds through a phone's camera to customize shirts, jeans and suits. They claim to be 20% better than a tailor. Basic customized shirts start at $69. This product sounds amazing!!! But I have a suggestion for their marketing team. I recently saw a television commercial for Mtailor. And first thing I thought of was that they are marketing in the wrong year we are living in and their audience are more focused on their phones and not the television.
SUGGESTION.......
Simplicity is the best for branding. Take a look at apple, simple and straight to the point. The direction that I suggest to take is to build up the Mtailor brand on the social media. Mtailor should build a fanbase on social media to create a hype around the company. In order to create a fanbase, Mtailor must create content.
Content!
Content should ultimately bring value, emotion and attention to the audience. By producing this content, the audience can associate or make a connection with the brand. If the audience can connect with the brand they are more likely to buy and spread the brand by word of mouth. Basically content is giving information for free and free is everyone’s favorite thing.
Here are some social media and content ideas:
· Social media- Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Youtube: engagement with social media audience is needed, contest, behind the scenes
· Blog- Articles on fabrics, shoes, measurements, cuffs, color schemes for outfits
· Videos- Vlogs, How to tie a tie, How to properly wash, How to fold a pocket square, how to iron
· Influencers- Example: Fitness
o Bodybuilders, powerlifters, and people who work out in general, often develop a physique that makes it a struggle to find comfortable jeans. If Mtailor can get influencers within the fitness world to try or review the app, this can create hype around the brand.
I am confident that the fitness community will engage because on instagram under #mtailor, @twuanfitness84 posted a video and raves about the shirt he ordered because it is hard for him to find a comfortable shirt. This can as well be applied to other areas such as professional business influencers, youth influencers, music influencers, etc.
